Different by Design: The Brands Behind Kin Aesthetics

There is no single way to care for skin.

That belief has shaped the way we have built Kin from the beginning. We don't look for brands simply because they are Korean, because an ingredient is trending, or because a product fits neatly into a category we need to fill. We look for brands with a point of view—brands that have thought deeply about skin, formulation, professional treatment, and the role skincare plays beyond the treatment room.

The result is a collection that isn't necessarily uniform. And we like it that way.

The brands at Kin have different philosophies, different specialties and, sometimes, entirely different approaches to the same skin concern. Some lean heavily into corneotherapy and barrier function, some are built around advanced professional treatments and delivery systems, while others combine the sensorial side of Korean skincare with highly technical formulation.

At Kin, we believe good skincare begins with understanding the skin rather than trying to overpower it. We believe professional treatments should be intentional, but we also believe homecare is just as important, if not more. We believe innovation is most interesting when there is a reason behind it, and we believe the esthetician should understand why something works, not simply be handed a protocol and told to follow it.

Those ideas are the thread running through our collection.  But within that framework, there is room for difference.

KrX Aesthetics
has always represented one of the things we love most about Korean professional skincare: treatments can be highly effective without feeling unnecessarily complicated.

From Green Sea Peel and Carboxy Therapy to VTOX and an extensive collection of professional peels and homecare, KrX gives estheticians treatments that are approachable enough to integrate into an existing practice while still feeling distinctive to the client. And the line gives estheticians room to build treatments around the skin in front of them rather than creating an overly rigid experience.

Corthe brings a different perspective.

Rooted in a corneotherapeutic approach, Corthe continually brings the conversation back to the health and function of the skin barrier. Instead of asking only how we can correct what we see, it encourages us to consider why the skin is behaving the way it is in the first place.

That philosophy makes Corthe particularly important within the Kin collection. And its an approach that influences far more than the products we carry. It has influenced the way we teach skin.

DERMATHOD approaches professional skincare through another lens: technology, delivery and sophisticated treatment systems.

The line is built for estheticians who want to move beyond a traditional facial and incorporate advanced modalities and targeted actives into their treatments. From Carboxy therapy and Rejuragen to stamping ampoules there is an unmistakably clinical side to DERMATHOD.

But what makes the brand interesting to us isn't technology for technology's sake. It is the way the products, ingredients and professional protocols are designed to work together.

Thesera brings yet another dimension to the collection.

There is a distinctly Korean sensibility to the way Thesera approaches professional skincare: sophisticated formulations, innovative treatment concepts and an experience that feels as important as the individual steps.

Its professional systems allow estheticians to create treatments that feel special from beginning to end, while ingredients and technologies such as spicules, PDRN-focused formulations and its Ceraectoin™ collection bring a modern approach to renewal, hydration and barrier support.

Thesera reminds us that professional skincare can be serious about skin science without losing the ritual, texture and experience that make someone want to return to it.

We believe there would be very little value in carrying four versions of the same philosophy. We would rather build a collection in which each brand earns its place.

That means looking at what a line contributes to an esthetician's practice, where it overlaps with what we already carry, where it fills a gap, and whether there is something about its philosophy or formulation that genuinely deserves our attention.

Skincare is rarely absolute. There are different ways to approach exfoliation, barrier repair, pigmentation, acne, aging and treatment preparation. The job of a professional isn't to memorize one universal answer. It's to understand the skin well enough—and understand the tools available well enough—to make an educated decision.

Our job at Kin is to give you better tools.

This is also why we hesitate to talk about "K-beauty" as though it describes one type of product or one approach to skin. Korean skincare is an enormous industry made up of formulators, laboratories, educators and brands with different histories and ideas. We want Kin to be a place where you can discover those differences.
